Rafael Viñoly’s NEMA tower is nearly complete, and move-ins at some of its 800 apartments for rent in Downtown Chicago will begin as early as the spring. The design for the 76-story glassy tower was inspired by the “bundled tubes” silhouette of the Sears (lately Willis) Tower, which ushered in the era of the skyscraper in 1973. Now, NEMA is continuing that tradition with a new take on the classic design in the Grant Park neighborhood, where lucky residents will enjoy spectacular Downtown and Lake Michigan views from their luxury apartments. NEMA will also be home to 70,000 square feet of luxury amenities, including a resort-caliber outdoor deck with pool, Viking barbecue grills, and ample chaise lounges and daybeds.
